Origene Pulse Food

“It says organic so it should be good, right?” “Activated charcoal? What even is that?”

“Why do I have to read and remember chemicals that I can’t pronounce? On a pack of cookies.”

No need to play Sherlock.

Origene Pulse™ reveals the good guys.

Origene Pulse™ demystifies labels on products, provides clarity and rates them based on how good or not-so-good it is for you. The higher the pulse beats, the better the product!

This is designed to enable you choose products wisely based on your unique needs.

We at Origene are committed to simplifying wellbeing transparently, delivering unbiased assessments based on scientific research and industry expertise. We read the labels, and our panel of experts break the label information down to easy nuggets of insights for you, so more power to you.

Unwrapping Origene Pulse™ Beat

We buy products for a purpose. For Foods, that’s primarily nutrition. And while foods provide nutrition, we want them to be free from preservatives, unnecessary chemicals and be as minimally processed as possible. At Origene, we consider that goodness.

So, we have rated the food products in two broad buckets: Nutrition & Goodness. Origene Pulse shows the product’s overall rating on an 8 beats scale. They get rated on Nutrition and Goodness separately on a 4 beats scale each.

Nutrition:

Nutrition Profile: This shows the calorie contribution of all the macro nutrients. Origene’s expert panel have put together a balanced diet guideline based on WHO benchmarks which is an ideal macro-nutrient level calorie contribution of different categories in Foods. In this section we show how the particular product fares against the benchmark for that category. The higher the green bars in this section, the better the product.

Portion Check:

While ‘nutrition profile’ showcases how nutrient-dense a product is by accounting for its protein, carbohydrates, fiber and fats, ‘portion check’ highlights certain nutrients that might be of concern, like calories, Saturated & Trans fats, sugars, salt and overall calories.  Each of these are rated Low, Medium or High for you to make a better-informed choice. Again, more the greens the better the product.

Goodness:

Other Inclusions: An integral part of packaged food and beverages are additives like synthetic chemicals, artificial sweeteners, artificial colors and preservatives. They must be present for taste, shelf life and stability of the product. Whatever goes in the pack are listed here transparently. The smaller and familiar the list the better it is.

Special Claims:

Brownie points are given to products and brands that go the extra mile to make their products compliant with certain qualitative values like gluten-free, vegan, sugar-free and so on. The list of such values is restricted to ones that actually add value to one’s health while keeping the gimmicky ones at bay. These have also been validated by our experts based on the label declarations of ingredients and nutritional information.

We also take pride in our assortment of products. We have carefully curated our assortment and for every product we have, we show why that’s a much better alternative than a conventional food choice that we make very often.

Whether you’re someone who is keeping a check on your weight or someone who is diabetic or someone who is vegan… whatever your wellness choices are, Origene Pulse™ finds your perfect match.
